The staff at East Grand Rapids Middle School is extremely grateful for the generosity and support that our students receive from our school community throughout the year. In this season of thanksgiving, we want to express our gratitude!

Teachers and staff have graciously requested that in lieu of holiday gifts, students instead donate to families and students in need in our school community. A number of families and students are struggling because of health issues, job loss, or other situations out of their control. Over the past 16 years, EGRMS families have helped raise money and donate personal items for families and students in need at the middle school. Last year the community graciously donated $5,114 in gift certificates, cash, food, and toiletry items. Over the previous years, some of the items families were able to purchase or pay for were new tires, winter clothing, utility bills, holiday presents for their children, food, mortgage/rent payments, health care, and personal care items. These donations will remain in the EGR school community with 100% of the money benefiting middle school students and families.

Please consider giving to the EGRMS fund for families and students in need as an alternative to staff gifts. In honor of your child’s teachers, please consider one of the following:

• A cash/check donation payable to “EGRMS PTO”
• A school pay deposit (there are fees associated with this option)
• A gift card
• Toiletries

If you would like to participate:

• Please put your child’s name and the teacher's name whom the donation is made in honor of on an envelope attached to your donation or on this school pay form
• Items may be dropped off in the Guidance Office.
• We will notify the staff members in writing of your contribution.
